I hadn't made a paper chain since I was a child. I quickly remembered why paper-chain making is so fun. It is easy, repetitious and fun.
My daughter drew a picture of our destination on a piece of paper that I had already cut into the shape of the state we will be visiting. We then stapled paper chains in rows of 10 to count down the days. We used rows of 10 so the chain wouldn't be so long. It has also provided an opportunity to talk about groups of ten.
