Heartbroken

Today my big girl twirled into the wooden arm of a chair in our living room.  She hit her front teeth smack dab on the wood as she was falling (a clumsy trait she inherits from me).  My poor girl's upper lip is so swollen and her teeth have been knocked back into her mouth.  Right now, we just have to watch and wait to see what the outcome of this horrible accident will be.  She isn't speaking, drinking, eating or swallowing.  I pray that with a good night's sleep she will be able to handle the pain and get some liquids in her system.  I can't help but think that there is something more I could have done to prevent her unfortunate accident.  I pride myself on being a cautious person and parent to avoid accidents such as these.  I guess accidents sometimes just happen.  I am heartbroken...
